  • The Department of Athletics oversees and manages the following indoor and outdoor facilities: Keating Sports Center, Keating Recreation Field (north of the Baseball field), IIT Tennis Courts, Ed Glancy Field (Baseball), Ekco Pool (Swimming), and Stuart Field (Soccer/Lacrosse). All reservation information provided pertains to rental/use of one or more of the above.
  • The Department of Athletics reserves the right to refuse use to any group due to conflicts with upcoming events, field conditions, history of non-payment, history of abuse to facilities, or the nature of the use.
  • If a facility reservation request is submitted, even in the appropriate time, it does not guarantee approval of the request. If approved, a confirmation email will be sent to the contact person. If an email address is not available, the contact person will be contacted via telephone.
Policy and Priority of Reservations

Any group or organization wishing to use any Department of Athletics facility must contact the Director of Facilities via email, Usha Gilmore (ugilmore@iit.edu). For rentals of Ed Glancy Baseball Field, please contact the Head Baseball Coach Edward Zeifert (ezeifert@iit.edu). For rentals of Ekco Pool, please contactthe Facilities Director Usha Gilmore (ugilmore@iit.edu)

Area policies and event policies will be communicated to the contact person of the requesting group/organization. It is the responsibility of the contact person to communicate with the group or organization.

Payment
  • For a non-university group, a user facility agreement must be signed at least 2 weeks prior to the scheduled event. A billing invoice will be issued to the group contact. The group contact person is responsible for making payments and communicating with the facility manager of the athletic department.
  • 50 percent of the total cost of the rental must be received within five business days of execution of the facilities agreement.
  • Full payment is due two weeks prior to the actual event for a non-university group.
  • Rentals are based on 1-hour increments – Any activity that runs over allotted time will be charged for that time and may be subject to termination of contract.
  • Non-University groups must have their own insurance, and a certificate of insurance satisfying the particular requirements set forth in the user facility agreement must be provided to the athletic department two weeks prior to the actual event.
Outdoor Facilities Reservation Policies
  • Stuart Turf Field (Soccer/Lacrosse) is located on the corner of 31stand State Street, west of the Stuart Building. This field is 115 x 75 turf field that is lined for soccer, women's lacrosse, and men's lacrosse.
  • The Keating Recreation Field is located north of Ed Glancy Field on the Illinois Institute of Technology campus. This field consists of a quarter mile dirt track, movable soccer goals, and open space. Keating Recreation Field may be reserved by university groups for team practices or to host games, tournaments, or special events.
  • IIT Tennis Courts are located just north of the MTCC, and are bordered on the west by the El tracks. IIT Tennis Courts may be reserved by university groups for team practices or to host games, tournaments, or special events.
  • In the event of cancellation due to inclement weather, every effort will be made to reschedule to a time mutually convenient to all parties involved.

KeatingSports CenterReservation Policies
  • The Keating Sports Center facilities may be reserved by university groups for team practices or to host games, tournaments, or special events.
  • Those reserving space within the building must stay in the areas agreed upon and must follow building guidelines. Taking over the space of others or not complying with regulations may result in the loss of reservation privileges for the organization.
  • Rearrangement of the space is not allowed unless permission is given prior to the event. Additional charges may apply.
  • Any group or organization that has reserved space is responsible for clean up at the end of the event. Failure to do so will result in additional charges and loss of facility use privileges.
  • Children between the ages of 13 and 18 must be supervised by an adult, IIT student, faculty, staff or Keating Sports Center member. Rentals for use by children under the age of 13 is not allowed.
  • No alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs may be consumed prior to or while using the facility.
  • Bicycles, roller-skates, roller blades, and skateboards are prohibited in the Keating Sports Center.
  • Facilities may be closed and/or reservations canceled when warranted (i.e. special events, maintenance projects, and inclement weather).
  • Any injury incurred within Department of Athletics property must be reported to the campus police.
  • Use of the University facilities is a privilege, and participants are expected to exhibit proper conduct and respect the rights of others. Individuals who engage in unacceptable, unsafe or irresponsible behavior may have their access to facilities revoked, modified and/or subject to further University disciplinary action.
  • Permanent reservations are restricted to only the Department of Athletics. Outside vendors are prohibited unless approved by the Department of Athletics.
  • The use of locker rooms is not available for non-university groups unless approved by the Department of Athletics.
  • Proper athletic attire must be worn when participating in recreational activities: proper athletic (non-marking) shoes and clothing are required. Shirts must be worn at all times and should cover all areas of the skin which come in contact with the fitness equipment.
  • The Illinois Institute of Technology and Department of Athletics are not responsible for lost or stolen property.
Illinois Institute of Technology Department of Athletics reserves the right to:
  • Add additional stipulations to any event.
  • Cancel any activity due to inclement weather.
  • Cancel any activity that does not meet Department of Athletics rules and regulations.
  • Cancel any activity due to non-payment.
